Event details

The Leeds 5K is a monthly, chip-timed road race held at the University of Leeds Brownlee Centre, running from February to November. The course is 5 Kilometres, flat and run over three laps. The event is suitable for wheelchairs. Results are sent by text as runners cross the finish line and mile splits are published the next day. Finishers receive a chocolate bar.

Race headquarters is at the Brownlee Centre, Bodington Playing Fields, Bodington Avenue, Leeds LS16 8NA. The race has an overall entry limit of 200 places; 199 places remained at the time of the listing. A race licence has been applied for.

Entry, fees and facilities

Entry is available online only; online entry closes at 10:00 on race day and entry on the day is not available. Single-race entry fees are £10 (affiliated) and £12 (unaffiliated). A Leeds Race Pass for the Oct-Nov period is priced at £18 (affiliated) and £22 (unaffiliated). Prices include race fees, card charges and administration. When entering for the first time, each runner is assigned a race number with an embedded timing chip, collected at Registration; previously issued red 5K numbers from 2020-25 may be reused in 2026 if recorded on the entry form. Entrants are entitled to one free number replacement in a 12 month period; further replacements cost £4. Facilities include water stations, distance markers and toilets; there are no changing rooms, showers or baggage storage. Deferral of a place is allowed once, to the next race in the calendar year, if requested at least three days before race day. No refunds and no transfers are permitted.
