West Lancs Summer Triathlon & Multisport
West Lancs Summer Triathlon & Multisport is a multisport race held at Edge Hill University Sports Centre in Ormskirk, Lancashire. The event uses a pool swim start, a multi-lap road cycling route through surrounding Lancashire roads and a two-lap run on purpose-built trails finishing on the athletics track. Event facilities include on-site parking and a transition area at the sports centre.
Race formats offered include sprint triathlon, duathlon, aquabike and aquathlon, with individual and relay entries available. Participants must hold a British Triathlon Core or Ultimate membership or purchase a single use Race Pass to take part.
Course details
- 400 m pool swim in a 25 m pool, 16 lengths
- 21 km road bike consisting of three laps
- 5 km run on tarmac and short gravel, finishing on the athletics track
Entries include electronic timing, online results, a custom finishers medal, a custom swim cap, course support, fully signed routes, marshals, aid stations, free photos and free onsite parking. The bike route uses local roads with some traffic management and signage to assist navigation, and the run route has marshals and a drinks station positioned on course.
