West Lancs Summer Triathlon & Multisport 2026
West Lancs Summer Triathlon & Multisport takes place at Edge Hill University in Ormskirk, using the campus sports facilities and fitness trails. The event uses the 25m swimming pool in the Sports Centre for the swim leg and finishes on the university running track.
The sprint triathlon course comprises a 400m swim, a 21.5k cycle run over a relatively flat three-lap circuit and a 5k run around campus trails. Other race formats offered are a duathlon, aquathlon and a newly introduced aquabike. Relay entries are available for most disciplines.
Distances and formats:
- Triathlon: 400m swim, 21.5k cycle (three laps), 5k run finishing on the running track.
- Duathlon: 5k run, 21k cycle, 2.5k run.
- Aquathlon: 400m swim, 5k run.
- Aquabike: 400m swim, 21k cycle.
Participants must be at least 15 years old in the event year, be medically fit to compete and, for bike events, use a roadworthy bike and a recognised cycle helmet; mountain bikes and hybrids are acceptable. British Triathlon membership or an appropriate race licence or single-event race pass is required.
Entry fees vary by event and relay options. Entries close at 12 noon on the Thursday before the event or when the event fills. Included with entry are a finishers medal, a swim cap for swim events and free downloadable event photographs. Timing is provided by Epic Events; Results Base manages registration.
