West Highland Way Race
The West Highland Way Race is an ultramarathon run along the long-distance West Highland Way between Milngavie, just north of Glasgow, and Fort William in the Scottish Highlands. The route covers approximately 95 miles with about 14,000 feet of ascent. The race was first held in 1985 and 2026 marks its 40th running.
Entry is limited to 300 runners each year. Volunteer registration is open via an online form. Organisers have published changes for 2026, including adjustments to checkpoints and the provision of a water station at the Bogle Glen/A82 road crossing.
