Weekend 5K and Kids 1K Series
The Weekend 5K and Kids 1K Series is a community running event at the Dominion Arboretum on Saturday, August 8, 2026. The program includes short distances for children and a 5K distance for youth and adults.
Distances
- Kids 1K for ages 0 to 12, free
- 5K Youth for ages 24 and under, free
- 5K for adult participants
Entry pricing for the 5K is listed as CAD 10 plus applicable fees and HST in advance, with a higher fee on race day. All 2026 Run Ottawa members may register for free. Kids 1K and 5K Youth entries are free.
The event names OCISO as its charity partner; OCISO provides culturally and linguistically appropriate programs to support immigrants, helps build community through partnerships, and fosters inclusive spaces for dialogue and healing. St John Ambulance is listed among event sponsors.
Event logistics note free parking near the Tropical Greenhouse off Maple Drive, approximately a 10 minute walk from the start area, and paid parking at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum lot (901 Prince of Wales Dr).
