Weekend 5K and Kids 1K Series
The Weekend 5K and Kids 1K Series consists of multiple running events held across various locations in Ottawa. These community races are designed to be accessible and affordable, with specific categories for different age groups.
The following distances are available:
- 5K Adult
- 5K Youth (Ages 18 and under)
- 1K Kids (Ages 0-12)
One event in the series takes place at Beechwood Cemetery. This event partners with OCISO (Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization), a charity that supports immigrants moving to Canada through culturally and linguistically appropriate community programs and inclusive spaces.
Another series event is held at the Dominion Arboretum. Participants using public transportation can reach the site via a short walk from the Carling O-train station. For those driving, free parking is located near the Tropical Greenhouse off Maple Drive, situated approximately 10 minutes from the start line. Additional paid parking is available at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum lot.
Registration for the 1K Kids and 5K Youth categories is free of charge. Members of Run Ottawa also receive free entry to the events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
