Weehawken 5K Walk/Run for Food Justice
The second annual Weehawken 5K Walk/Run for Food Justice is held on the scenic waterfront path in Weehawken, New Jersey. The event is organized by Food Justice for All, whose mission is to provide education and resources to address food insecurity. One hundred percent of funds raised will support PERC shelter in Union City, NJ and community education around food insecurity.
On race day participants can choose among three options:
- 5K competitive run aimed at finish under 30 minutes
- 5K walk/run open to walkers and slower runners
- 1 Mile fun run for kids with music and face painting
The program includes an educational component about plant based meals and effective ways to feed large groups. After the kids fun run there will be additional activities for children, including face painting, art activities, food demonstrations and a dance party.
Registration fees listed by the organizer are $45 for each 5K entry and $30 for the 1 Mile fun run. No strollers or pets are allowed. A rain date is set for November 15, 2026 and organizers may move the event in case of inclement weather; participants will be notified in advance.
