WE RUN MOUNT VERNON Thanksgiving Turkey Trot
We Run Mount Vernon is a voluntary community group formed to encourage fitness for every body and every age. The group began with a weekly walking group in 2018 and continues to run regular walk/runs from the Gazebo in Hartley Park on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The organization also operates a free Monday morning youth running club based at a local Mount Vernon school.
The Thanksgiving Turkey Trot is an in-person community event organized by We Run Mount Vernon. The group held an in-person Turkey Trot in 2023, and organizers thanked sponsors and participants for the 2024 Turkey Trot. Sponsors and supporters listed for recent events include local institutions and businesses such as MasterCard, Foodtown Mt. Vernon, Costco, the Mt. Vernon City School District, and the Department of Public Works.
