Watersons Hale 10K & Ashley Hall 3K
The Watersons Hale 10K is an annual running event that takes place on fully closed roads through the locations of Hale, Bowdon, and Ashley. The event features a capacity of 2,000 participants and is currently preparing for its sixth edition. The course is officially certified and provides a route that transitions from a village setting into rural lanes.
The 10 km course begins on South Downs Road in Hale. Runners pass through the center of the village before heading out toward Ashley along country lanes. The race concludes within the grounds of Ashley Hall. This distance is supported by pacers to assist runners in maintaining specific target times.
The event also includes a shorter distance option:
- 3 km
The 3 km race is held entirely within the grounds of Ashley Hall. This shorter route is also fully closed to motor traffic and is intended for younger participants or those who prefer a shorter distance.
Event logistics include vehicle parking at Ashley Hall, located approximately 1 km from the 10 km start line. Road closures are implemented across all sectors of the course and are reopened sequentially once the final runner has passed. The event serves as a fundraiser for The Toy Appeal, a charity that provides gifts to children living in poverty across the North West of England.
