Event Overview
The Waterman Eco-Challenge is a multi-discipline sports event held at Roger Wheeler State Beach in Narragansett, Rhode Island. It supports the Summer Safe Ocean State initiative, raising awareness and funding for water safety and drowning prevention, cancer prevention and cardiac health, and protecting Rhode Island's coastal environment.

Participants can choose from several events:
- 5K Run or Walk
- 10K Run
- 1 Mile or 2.4 Mile Swims
- 3 Mile or 6 Mile Paddles
- Eco-Challenger: 5K Run, 1 Mile Swim, and 3 Mile Paddle
- Ultimate Challenger: 10K Run, 2.4 Mile Swim, and 6 Mile Paddle
- Eco Kids 400 Meter Swim (for ages 12 and under)
Practical Information
The event takes place on July 18, 2026. Early registration opens on February 15, 2026, with a discount ending April 15, 2026. Standard registration begins after that. Division scoring brackets are available for ages 9 through 70+. A parking fee applies at Roger Wheeler State Beach, charged at a weekend rate per car.
