Waterman Eco-Challenge 2026 : Narragansett, RI
The Waterman Eco-Challenge is scheduled for July 18, 2026 at Roger Wheeler State Beach in Narragansett, Rhode Island. The event is the 16th annual edition and offers separate run, swim, and paddle events as well as a combined challenge that includes all three disciplines.
Event distances include:
- Run: 5K and 10K coastal road races
- Swim: 400 meter kids course, 1 mile, and 5K open-water swims
- Paddle: 3 mile and 6 mile paddle races
The swim program is dual sanctioned by USA Swimming and USMS. The event is RI State Green Certified and hosted by USA Club Kingfish RI. Event programming includes water safety and drowning prevention activities, CPR and AED tutorials, skin cancer screenings, and coastal environment sustainability efforts. The site notes past fundraising for cancer prevention, with $75,000 raised in 2025.
