Watchtree Half Marathon 2026
The Watchtree Half Marathon is a long-distance running event held at the Watchtree Nature Reserve and the surrounding countryside. This event serves as the final challenge in a progressive running programme that includes shorter distances earlier in the year. The course follows quiet country lanes characterized by an undulating profile with gentle inclines.
Participants must be at least 17 years old to enter. The event is conducted on open roads where safety regulations are strictly enforced; specifically, the use of headphones is not permitted during the run. To ensure participant welfare, the route is well-marshalled and includes multiple water stations.
The race follows a 21.1 km (13.1 miles) route that begins and ends within the nature reserve. All finishers receive a commemorative medal. Runners who have also completed the specific 5 km and 10 km events in the same calendar year are eligible for an additional medal hanger.
The venue offers various facilities for visitors, including a café, nature walks, orienteering, and cycle hire. Please note that dogs are not permitted to accompany runners on the course. Registration remains open until the event reaches capacity or until the cancellation deadline in early November. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
