Washington Street Church of God Annual Family Fun Walk/Run & Health Fair
The event takes place in September 2026 at Marquette Park, 1 N Grand Blvd, Gary, IN 46403. It includes multiple walk and run distances and a community health fair. Children are welcome and supervised with outdoor games, balloon art, and face painting. A light breakfast and brunch are provided at no cost. Vendors will offer health information, free giveaways, and blood pressure checks. Any profit will be used toward renovation for re-opening of the Northwest Indiana Friendship House.

Most walk and run events list an entry fee of $40. The "Join the Fun - Bless Your Pastor" event is listed as free; vendor spaces are listed with a fee. Registration opens January 24, 2026. Awards are given to the top overall finisher in each listed category. The event proceeds rain or shine. No pets are allowed except service animals. Bikes, scooters, skateboards and rollerblades are prohibited. The course uses both paved surfaces and trails, so participants should wear proper footwear.
