Valpo Police K-9 Unit 5K9 Run & 1 Mile Dog Walk
The Valpo Police K-9 Unit 5K9 Run & 1 Mile Dog Walk is scheduled for May 15, 2026 at Central Park Plaza in Valparaiso, IN. The event includes a road 5K and a one-mile walk that allows dogs.

Online registration opens October 1, 2025 and closes on May 15, 2026. Entry fees are tiered: ages 13 and over pay $30 for either the 5K or the 1 mile walk; children 12 and under may participate in the 1 mile walk for $20. Mail-in registrations must be postmarked before May 1, 2026. Race day registration is $35 for run and walk. Moisture-wicking shirts are guaranteed for participants who preregister before May 4, 2026.
Awards include overall male and female, overall masters (age 40 and over) male and female, top three male and female finishers across multiple age groups from 0-8 through 80+, and two weight divisions: Athena (female 170 lb and over) and Clydesdale (male 210 lb and over). Computerized timing will be used with split times at every mile and water stations on the course. Strollers, bicycles, in-line skates, and scooters are not allowed; handicap equipment is permitted.
