Valpo Police K-9 Unit 5K9 Run & 1 Mile Dog Walk
This event takes place on May 15, 2026 at Central Park Plaza in Valparaiso, Indiana. It includes a timed 5K road run and a one-mile dog walk that both start and finish at the plaza.

Computerized timing is provided by T&H Timing with split times at every mile. The 5K is a road course with moderate hills and water stations are available on the course. No strollers, bicycles, in-line skates, or scooters are allowed; handicap equipment is permitted.
Awards are given for overall male and female, overall masters (age 40 and over) male and female, and top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups from 0-8 through 80+. Additional awards include Athena for females 170 lb and over and Clydesdale for males 210 lb and over.
Moisture-wicking shirts are guaranteed for participants who preregister before May 4, 2026. Early packet pick-up is available Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Extra Mile Fitness Co., 3400 Calumet Ave, Valparaiso. On-site packet pick-up begins the day of the event. Mail-in registrations must be postmarked before May 1, 2026. Entry fees differ by age and event, and race day registration is listed separately.
