Washington Coalfields Duathlon
The event is a non-drafting sprint duathlon held on a traffic free, closed circuit at the Nissan Test Track in Sunderland. The course is organised on the test track at the Nissan plant and uses both the main track and an inside track for shorter laps.

- 5 km run
- 20 km bike
- 1.7 km run
Run 1 comprises one full lap of the main track followed by two shorter laps of the inside track. The bike stage is seven laps of the main track. Run 2 consists of two short laps of the inside track.
The run sections are described as undulating and include a mixture of surfaces. The bike course is flat and on tarmac. The event includes aid stations, chip timing, changing facilities, showers, toilets and accessible parking. Prizes are awarded to the top three open and top three female finishers. Expected competitor number is around 150. Entry is via online registration; the listed entry fee is £42.00 and the entry deadline is 21 September 2026. A permit is in progress with British Triathlon.
