Washington Coalfields Duathlon
The Washington Coalfields Duathlon is a non-drafting sprint duathlon held on a traffic-free closed circuit at the Nissan Test Track in Sunderland. The race consists of three stages: a first run, a bike leg, and a second run, with specific lap patterns on the test track.
Distances
- 5 km run, undulating, mixture of surfaces
- 20 km bike, flat, tarmac, seven laps of the track
- 1.7 km run, undulating, mixture of surfaces, two short laps
The cycle stage is completed as seven laps of the track. Run 1 is one full lap of the track followed by two shorter laps on the inside track. Run 2 comprises two short laps of the inside track. The course is closed to traffic and includes aid stations. Event services listed include accessible parking, changing, showers, toilets, chip timing, parking, and published results.
