Run Gateshead Hot Chocolate 10K 2026

The event takes place on 13 December 2026 at Derwent Haugh / Derwent Country Park, Swalwell, Newcastle upon Tyne. The course is a mostly flat, traffic-free 10K on paved footpaths and tracks within the park, run as two loops starting and finishing near the Swalwell Visitor Centre. Facilities at Race HQ include registration, bag drop, changing, and first aid. Parking and toilets are at Blaydon Rugby Club, a short walk from the HQ. The race uses chip timing, has distance markers every kilometre, water stations at 5K and the finish, and a finisher medal. Entry is limited to 300 runners; affiliated entry fee is £24 and unaffiliated £26. Entries close on 7 December 2026. Minimum age is 15. UKA rules prohibit in-ear headphones, prams, and dogs. All runners receive hot chocolate provided by Blaydon Rugby Club at the finish. Individual prizes are awarded to the top three men and women overall, and there are team prizes for the first male and female teams (three to count).

Entry is limited to 200; affiliated entry fee is £13 and unaffiliated £15. Entries close on 7 December 2026. Minimum age is 11. UKA rules prohibit in-ear headphones, prams, and dogs.
