The Snow Globe Gallop Bobble Hat Run - North
Saturn Running holds this event on Sunday 13 December 2026 at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Ln, Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3JU. The event is organised as a 7 hour Time Challenge that allows participants to choose how many laps to complete.
The course is a trail route along the River Wear with views of the Cathedral. It is fully signed so no navigation experience is required. A full lap is listed as 4.37 miles or 7 km, though organisers note this may change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. There are 3 km and 5 km turn points within the lap to accommodate age restrictions from UK Athletics.
Finisher recognition is provided for anyone completing at least 3 km. Finishers receive a themed medal and a bobble hat. Distance pins are available for half-marathon distance and above, including Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50 km and Ultra pins. All finishers receive a goody bag and a vegan goody bag option is offered.
Aid and drinks tables are available at the start/finish of each lap with sweet and savoury snacks and vegan options. Toilets and changing facilities are at race HQ. Bag drop is provided but unstaffed and left at participants' own risk. Pay and display parking is available nearby; parking in the rowing club car park is not permitted.
