Wasatch Trail Run Series - Snowbird
The Wasatch Trail Run Series events at Snowbird take place on July 15 and August 19 at the Creekside area of Snowbird Resort in Little Cottonwood Canyon. Registration is held at Entrance #1, Creekside. The event includes post race yoga and live music on August 19 by Blue Grass Thunder.
Runners should bring a full hydration pack or bottle; water is available only at the start and finish area and the event is cupless. Parking and staging are at the Creekside/Entrance #1 area.
Course options:
- Long course: about 7.9 miles, 1800 ft elevation gain.
- Short course: about 4.7 miles, 800 ft elevation gain.
Both courses start at Creekside and use a mix of dirt road, single track and paved sections. The long course passes landmarks such as the bottom of the Gadzoom lift, Snowbird Center and Cliff Lodge, and includes single track sections named Dean’s Delight, Black Jack Return, Big Mountain Trail, Midway and Baby Thunder before returning to the Creekside finish. The short course follows the initial dirt road and Dean’s Delight before turning onto Peruvian Gulch Trail, Chauner’s Loop, Dick Bass Hwy and Midway, then joining Baby Thunder back to the finish.
Snowbird is located approximately seven miles up Little Cottonwood Canyon from the canyon mouth; park at Entrance #1 Creekside for event access. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
