Warrenville Park District Firecracker 5K
The Warrenville Park District presents the 16th annual Firecracker event on July 4, 2026, in Warrenville, Illinois. The main 5K run and walk follows a scenic course that includes the Illinois Prairie Path, Warrenville Grove and streets of downtown Warrenville. Awards are given to the top three finishers in each age group and to the top male and female overall.
5K participants are guaranteed a race t-shirt, a goodie bag and a finisher medal. The Sparkler 1 mile follows the 5K; Sparkler participants receive a t-shirt and finisher medal. Youth events include a 50 yard dash for ages 3 to 6 and a 100 yard dash for ages 7 to 10; children in these dashes receive participation ribbons and must sign a waiver.
Packet pick up is available Thursday, July 2 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the Warrenville Recreation Center Upper Multipurpose Room at 3S260 Warren Avenue, Warrenville. Additional packet pick up is available at the FitnessNOW Guest Services desk in the Recreation Center from July 3 until race day. To receive a race bib prior to race day, registration must be completed by 5:00 PM on Monday, June 30.
Participants accept and assume the risks described in the event waiver and authorize medical treatment if necessary. The event does not provide medical or accident insurance for participants. No strollers, bikes or dogs are allowed on the course due to narrow paths. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
