Wandering Moose
This event offers multiple trail distances at Myra Bellevue starting from the KVR. Routes combine flat Kettle Valley Railway (KVR) sections and technical single track with roots, rocks and creek crossings.
Distances:
- 35 km: ascent 940 m, descent 1420 m
- 25 km: ascent 510 m, descent 1000 m
- 12 km: ascent 204 m, descent 672 m
- 1 km: kids race, approx. 1 km, not timed
The 12 km course follows the KVR before descending Myra Bailout and Angel Springs through mossy forest and open single track. The 25 km includes KVR warm up, Capitan Nemo, Lost Lake, Bellvue Access and Blancher's Silver, then descends Doc Savage and climbs Lookout and Crawford back to the KVR before the final descent to Angel Springs. The 35 km uses some sections in reverse, includes Vapour trail and connector climbs, reaches Aid Station 1 near Crawford parking, climbs back to the KVR via trails such as Earring and Surf n' Turf, then runs along the KVR to join the 12 km finish. The 35 km has aid at about 23 km and a plan is given for the final 14 km stretch.
Aid stations serve water, electrolyte drink, gels, fruit and snacks. Runners must check in at aid stations, bring a foldable bowl for food and a personal cup for drinks. Shuttle transport runs from the finish area to the KVR; parking is available at Myra Adventure Park and along June Springs road but there is no parking at the KVR. Drop bags are accepted at the start if labeled; organizers are not responsible for lost or damaged bags.
Recommended items include a lightweight jacket, emergency blanket, extra warm layer, phone, bear spray, gloves, sunglasses and personal fuel. Deferral and refund policies are set by the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
