Wings for Life World Run Locations

The Wings for Life World Run in Kelowna is a global running event where participants race against a digital catcher car. Instead of a traditional finish line, runners and wheelchair participants use a dedicated mobile application to track their progress. The Virtual Catcher Car begins 30 minutes after the start at a speed of 14 km/h, steadily increasing its pace until every participant has been overtaken.

The event starts and ends at Okanagan Lifestyle (115-1295 Cannery Lane), situated in the Cannery Lane area. The route follows a vibrant out-and-back path toward the Kelowna Visitor Centre. This paved pathway is flat and accessible for various types of movement, including running, walking, and wheeling. Participants can repeat the loop as many times as they choose until they are caught by the virtual car.

The course offers views of Okanagan Lake and includes a local refreshment station. Financial contributions from entry fees and donations are directed entirely toward spinal cord research projects. Participation requires the use of the event app for timing and distance tracking. Possible distances achieved based on pace include: Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
