21st Annual Walk the Fight and Run the Distance for the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center
This community event in Tempe supports the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute and takes place at Tempe Beach Park on January 30, 2027. The program combines both walking and a chip timed 5K run, with real time results and event photos available.
Event options include:
- Block Stroll: two block walk
- 4K Walk: approximately 2.8 miles
- 5K Timed Run: approximately 3.11 miles
- Virtual Walk: complete a walk or run remotely and submit a photo
Onsite features include a resource fair, kids area, poster table, and a photo booth. Registered participants receive a custom event medal and may choose a custom dri-fit tech shirt. Male and female age group awards are presented to the top three finishers in each age group. Team fundraising tiers include private team tents and seating for groups that meet fundraising thresholds, with an additional team treat for higher levels.
Packet pickup is available the day before at Road Runner Sports in Tempe Marketplace and on event day at Tempe Beach Park. The event is managed by StartLine Racing. Course routes are published and may be changed if deemed unsafe on race day. Wheelchairs, strollers, and wagons are welcome, leashed pets are allowed, and roller blades, skateboards, and motorized devices are not permitted on the courses.
