Organizers and purpose

The event is presented by the Metro District Community Collaboration (MDCC) and the AZ LEOS Shop with a Cop event. MDCC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit working with the City of Phoenix and Concord Wilshire to redevelop the Metrocenter Mall area by promoting public safety, supporting local businesses and residents, and encouraging community investment. AZ LEOS is described as a collaboration hub for Arizona law enforcement, community members, civic groups, businesses, and education to develop community policing programs.
