Walk In My Shoes Children Mental Health Awareness 5K
The Walk In My Shoes run is an annual event held in Coconut Creek, Florida, situated at 3600 West Sample Road. This event serves to raise awareness for children's mental health and aims to reduce the stigma associated with seeking help. It provides a platform to share resources for youth, their families, and their support systems. Proceeds from the event benefit the programs of the Change Me Foundation.
The event features several categories for participants of different ages:
- 5K Run/Walk
- 5K Run (specifically for participants 16 and under)
- 150 Yards Kid's Races (limited to children ages 8 and under)
Participants are encouraged to wear green for the run. Registered runners receive a collectible bib and an authentic T-shirt. Those who upload a photo or video of their participation are eligible to receive a medal. The event includes a live musical performance by an Emmy-nominated singer and various activities designed for both adults and children. There is also a giveaway opportunity for attendees.
This gathering brings together community members, schools, and healthcare providers during National Mental Health Awareness Month. Registration is open to individuals of all ages, and the event allows for additional fundraising and tax-deductible donations to support local youth and families.
