Walk For Resilience 5K Run/Walk
The Walk For Resilience 5K Run/Walk is a community-centered mental health event hosted by Carmel’s Depression & Anxiety Wellness Foundation (CDAWF) in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY. The event brings together walkers, runners, families, and supporters to raise awareness for depression and anxiety and to promote movement, connection, and healing.
The event is a professionally timed 5K with bibs. Participants may walk, jog, or run at their own pace; the format emphasizes togetherness rather than competition. The event welcomes individuals, teams, youth, seniors, and first-time 5K participants. Amenities on race day include warm up and cool down opportunities, water and light snacks, DJ and sound support, port-a-potties, bag drop, a community resource presence, and a calm, inclusive atmosphere aligned with the event's mental wellness focus.
Proceeds support CDAWF’s mental health education, wellness programming, and community outreach, including resources and coping tools for people affected by depression and anxiety. Awards include top three male and female overall finishers and recognition for the top 100 finishers. Bib pickup details note personalized bibs for registrations completed three weeks in advance, on-site staff handling pickup, and rapid bib-number delivery by text for late registrants. Live online, email, and text results are provided along with free finish-line photos and same-day media. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
