Walk for Resilience 5K
The Walk for Resilience is a community-centered 5K run/walk held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The event is hosted by Carmel’s Depression & Anxiety Wellness Foundation (CDAWF) and focuses on mental health awareness, movement, connection, and healing. Proceeds support CDAWF’s mental health education, wellness programming, and community outreach to provide resources, coping tools, and access to support for individuals and families affected by depression and anxiety.
The event is professionally timed and issued bibs for participants. Race-day amenities include warm up and cool down opportunities, water and light snacks, DJ or sound support, port-a-potties, bag drop, live results via online, text, or email, and free finish-line photos. A personalized bib is available for participants who register at least three weeks in advance. Bibs are distributed by event staff on race day; last-minute registrants receive their bib number by text within 90 seconds.
Awards are given to the top three male and top three female overall finishers, and to the top 100 finishers. The event emphasizes a calm, inclusive race-day experience aligned with its mental wellness focus and welcomes individuals, teams, youth, seniors, and first-time 5K participants.
