Walk for Resilience 5K Run/Walk
The Walk for Resilience 5K Run/Walk is a community-centered mental health event organized by Carmel’s Depression & Anxiety Wellness Foundation (CDAWF). It is an inclusive 5K where participants may walk, jog, or run at their own pace. The event emphasizes togetherness and normalizing conversations about depression and anxiety rather than competition.
The event takes place in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY. Registration is not yet open; organizers note registration will open ahead of the event date. Proceeds support CDAWF’s mental health education, wellness programming, and community outreach to provide resources and coping tools for individuals and families affected by depression and anxiety.
Event features include professional chip timing with bibs, warm-up and cool-down, water and light snacks, DJ and sound support, community resources, port-a-potties, bag drop, and a calm, inclusive race-day experience aligned with the event’s mental wellness focus. Results are provided live online with email and text options, and free finish-line photos and same-day video are offered. Personalized bibs are available for registrants who register three weeks in advance. Awards are given to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top 100 finishers.
