Walk for Resilience 5K
The Walk for Resilience 5K is a community mental health event hosted by Carmel’s Depression & Anxiety Wellness Foundation in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY. The event brings together walkers, runners, families, and supporters to raise awareness for depression and anxiety while promoting movement, connection, and healing. Participation may include walking, jogging, or running at a personal pace, with an emphasis on togetherness rather than competition.
Amenities include a professionally timed 5K with bibs, warm up and cool down, water and light snacks, DJ and sound support, community resource presence, port-a-potties, bag drop, live online and text results, and free finish line photos. Participants who register at least three weeks in advance are eligible for a personalized bib.
Awards recognize the top three male and top three female overall finishers, and awards extend to the top 100 finishers. Bib pickup is managed by event staff beginning one hour before the event; a bib number is required for pickup. Last-minute registrants within 24 hours before the event may receive their bib number by text shortly after registering. Proceeds support the foundation’s mental health education, wellness programs, and community outreach to provide resources and coping tools for individuals and families affected by depression and anxiety.
