NYCRUNS Ugly Sweater 5K at Prospect Park
The NYCRUNS Ugly Sweater 5K is a festive road race held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn on December 5, 2026. The course covers just under one full loop of the park and finishes with a final sprint up Center Drive. The course is USATF certified.
The Festival Area is in the Nethermead and is accessible from Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive. Bib pick-up and race-day swag distribution occur in the Festival Area. Bib pickup requires a unique QR code; NYCRUNS members may receive their bib by mail when they register early and non-members may add mailed bib service for an additional fee. Shirts are distributed on race day only and sizes are not guaranteed.
NYCRUNS uses pace-based start corrals assigned by letter, AA through F, located on Well House Drive. Bag check is available with a single clear bag policy. Portable bathrooms are provided and water is available on course, with additional hydration at the finish. Post-race refreshments include bagels and fresh fruit. Race photos are delivered by email and can also be found through the event photographer.
Results are emailed and posted online after the race. Awards are given to the top three overall male, female, and non-binary finishers by gun time, and to the top three in each age group by net or chip time. Handcycle and wheelchair divisions are accepted. Standard no-refunds and no-transfers policies apply, and strollers and dogs are not allowed.
