NYCRUNS Ugly Sweater 5K - Prospect Park

The NYCRUNS Ugly Sweater 5K is a holiday-themed 5K held in Prospect Park, Brooklyn on December 5, 2026. The course covers just under one full loop of the park and finishes with a final sprint up Center Drive. All NYCRUNS courses are USATF certified.

A Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and serves as the hub for bib pick-up, gear check, restroom access, and shirt distribution prior to the race. Start corrals use a pace-based, lettered system (AA through F) and are located on Well House Drive; corral assignments appear on the race bib and are based on the pace listed in each runner’s NYCRUNS Dashboard.

On-course support includes water stations, with Gatorade and water available at the finish. Post-race refreshments include bagels with a schmear and fresh fruit. Event giveaways consist of a tech shirt and a finisher medal; shirts are distributed on race day only and sizes are not guaranteed. Race photos are provided by MarathonFoto a few days after the event.

Bibs may be mailed to members or purchased for mailing for non-members when requested at checkout, subject to advance registration and U.S. mailing address requirements. Handcycle and wheelchair divisions are included; athletes should confirm division status in their Dashboard and follow event instructions for check-in. Results are emailed and posted online.
