NYCRUNS Ugly Sweater 5K : Prospect Park, Brooklyn
The NYCRUNS Ugly Sweater 5K is a themed road race held in Prospect Park on December 5, 2026. The course covers just under one full loop of the park and finishes with a final sprint up Center Drive. The course is USATF certified. The Festival Area is located in the Nethermead and is accessible via Center Drive or the walking paths off Well House Drive.
Event amenities include a swag giveaway of a tech shirt and a finisher medal, on-course water with Gatorade and water at the finish, portable bathrooms, bagels and fresh fruit after the race, and race photos delivered by email with one photo available to download for free. Bag check requires a single clear bag and staff may search bag contents. Bibs are distributed on race day in the Festival Area; participants who are NYCRUNS members may have bibs mailed if registration deadlines and U.S. mailing address requirements are met.
Handcycle and Wheelchair Division athletes are accommodated when their account indicates the division. Results are emailed and posted online after the race. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers overall by gun time, and age group awards are scored by net or chip time in listed age groups. Policies include no refunds and no transfers, prohibition of strollers and dogs, and time limits enforced by race marshals.
