Wagga Half Marathon
The Wagga Half Marathon is a community running event held at the Riverside Precinct in Wagga Wagga. Part of the Wagga Race Series, the event features a course that utilizes the Wiradjuri Walking Track between Wiradjuri Reserve and Copeland Street. The route is situated near Wagga Beach and is characterized as a flat and fast course.
Participants can choose from four different distances:
- 21.1 km (Half Marathon)
- 10 km
- 5 km
- 2 km Family Dash
The 2 km Family Dash is designed for younger participants, with the option for an adult to accompany a child. All event distances are professionally chip-timed. While there are no cut-off times for the shorter distances, the 21.1 km race has a time limit of 3.5 hours.
The course follows scenic paths where other pedestrians and cyclists may be present. All finishers receive a themed medal, post-race snacks, and an online certificate. Because the event takes place on Sunday mornings, there is no public transport available to the site; however, the Riverside Precinct is accessible by car, bicycle, or walking from the nearby central business district.
