Intersport Wagga Lake Run and Ride
The Intersport Wagga Lake Run and Ride is a community participation event with free entry. Participants can run, walk or ride on measured courses that start and finish at Apex Park, Lake Albert. The event combines closed streets through Wagga Wagga with walking track along the banks of Lake Albert.
Distances:
- 5 km course around Lake Albert starting and finishing at Apex Park
- 10 km course through the streets of Wagga Wagga and along Lake Albert
Event entries use bibs with integrated disposable timing chips for recorded results; the chips are attached to the back of the bib and should not be removed. Bib colours distinguish entries: yellow for 10 km, red for 5 km and blue for cyclists and wheelies. Bibs are collected from Intersport Wagga in Baylis Street, with alternate collection available at Apex Park Hall for out of town participants on event day.
The cycling and wheelie section is non competitive, with no recorded times or medals for those categories. The finish area near Apex Park includes bike racks, sponsor giveaways, hot food and drink, and medal presentations for event and age category winners.
Safety measures include observing traffic regulations, completing personal details on the back of the bib, carrying adequate hydration, and following the escort guidance for cyclists. Narrow sections beside the lake require care, particularly for younger riders. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
