Wadsworth Trog
Wadsworth Trog is a local long-route fell race held on Saturday 6th February 2027, starting from Wadsworth Community Centre in Old Town, Hebden Bridge, HX7 8RY (Grid reference SD 998285). The course is listed as BL and measures 19.3 miles (31 km) with approximately 3642 ft (1110 m) of ascent. The route requires navigational skill and crosses exposed terrain.
The event is licensed by the Fell Runners Association under UKA rules and is designated a non GPS race. Competitors may use a GPS device only to record their route; electronic navigation aids are not permitted except in an emergency, and anyone using GPS navigation to reach safety must be recorded as a non competitive participant at the finish.
FRA mandatory minimum kit is compulsory and will be checked before race number allocation. Required items include waterproof full body cover (waterproof jacket with integrated hood and waterproof trousers with taped seams), hat (not a buff), gloves, map, compass, whistle and emergency food. Organisers advise carrying at least one extra base layer for winter conditions.
The race uses Sportident chip timing at every checkpoint. Checkpoints include a mix of manned controls and unmanned self dibs, and there are cut off times at some checkpoints. Entry is pre entry only, with a limit of 200 entries; FRA members and non members pay different fees and very limited entry on the day may be possible. Minimum age is 18.
