Event

The Wadsworth Trog takes place on Saturday 7 February 2026. The course is a long fell route of 31 km (19.3 miles) with 1110 m (3642 ft) of climb. The race is licensed by the FRA under UK Athletics rules and carries FRA insurance. The event category is BL. Navigational skill is required and the race is designated non-GPS for navigation; GPS devices may be used only to record the route and distance, not to aid navigation.

Location and logistics

The venue is Wadsworth Community Centre, Billy Lane, Old Town, Hebden Bridge, HX7 8RY (grid reference SD 998285; what3words: huts.broom.axed). Very limited parking is available and car sharing is advised. The route passes areas where shoots occur on Saturdays.

Entry, kit and other rules

Minimum age is 18. Pre-entry and limited on-the-day entry are available. Entry fees are £15 for FRA members and £17 for non-members. Team entries are permitted and there are team prizes for men and women. FRA mandatory minimum kit is compulsory and will be checked before race number allocation; required items include a waterproof full-body cover with taped seams and attached hood, a hat (not a buff), gloves, map, compass, whistle and emergency food. If the required kit is not carried the competitor will not be allowed to run. Records for the course are listed for male and female winners.
