Kirkstall Calverley Cutter & Kirkstall Bridge 10km
Great Owl Running stages two races from Race HQ at Kirkstall Bridge Inn, 12 Bridge Rd, Leeds LS5 3BW. One is a trail race of approximately 16 km that follows the Leeds Liverpool Canal, River Aire and includes the Calverley Cutting. The other is a fast, flat out-and-back run of approximately 10 km on the canal towpath.
The courses use canal towpath, riverside trail and public footpaths. Navigation is provided by a fully marked course with marshals at key areas. Water is available at the turnaround point on the 10 km only; Great Owl Running events are cupless so runners must bring their own water container. Due to ongoing flood relief works along the River Aire, a course diversion may be required and will be decided close to the race date.
Race specifics include approximately 200 m elevation for the longer route and approximately 60 m for the 10 km. Entry is limited to 250 participants and the minimum age is 18. Facilities at Race HQ include toilets and bag storage. Optional extras such as medals and T-shirts can be added to entries and a Trees not Tees donation option is available.
