Winter Solstice Strider 2026
The Winter Solstice Strider takes place on Monday 21 December 2026 at the St Ives Estate, Bingley. It is a night run with both in-person and virtual options and is organised by Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5 km one circuit
- 10 km two circuits
The course is multi-terrain with an undulating profile. Walkers may complete the 5 km one-circuit option. All participants are chip timed. The event is not suitable for wheelchairs. Entry is limited to 720 places; at the time of listing there were 717 places remaining.
Facilities at race headquarters (STRI, St Ives Estate) include water, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage storage. Every in-person participant receives a bespoke Solstice Strider medal.
A virtual option is available: participants may run a 5 km or 10 km at a location of their choice on the shortest day and will receive the event medal by post in advance. The event is supported by STRI and Bingley St. Ives Golf Club and sponsored by Warters and Co. Entry to the event includes agreement with the event terms and conditions.
