Winter Solstice Strider 2026
The Winter Solstice Strider takes place on Monday 21 December 2026 at the St Ives Estate, Bingley. The event is organised by Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice and includes both in-person and virtual participation options.
Runners and walkers can choose between these distances:
- 5 km - one circuit; walkers may complete one circuit.
- 10 km - two circuits.
The course is multi terrain with an undulating profile and is organised as one or two laps depending on distance. The event is not suitable for wheelchairs. All in-person participants are chip timed. Race headquarters is at STRI, St Ives Estate.
Facilities listed for the event include water, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, showers or baggage storage. Every participant receives a bespoke Solstice Strider medal. A virtual option allows entrants to run a 5 km or 10 km at a location of their choice on the shortest day; virtual entries include medal and postage sent in advance.
Entry is limited to 720 places and entry on the day is not available. Published entry fees include race fees and admin charges: adult 5 km and 10 km entries at £24.00, virtual entry with medal at £17.50, and a 6–17 years accompanied 5 km entry at £11.50.
