Winter Solstice Strider : 21 December 2026, St Ives Estate, Bingley
The Winter Solstice Strider is a night running event held at the St Ives Estate in Bingley on 21 December 2026. The event offers chip timing for all participants and a bespoke Solstice Strider medal sent to virtual entrants in advance or given to finishers on the day.
The course is multi terrain and undulating with one or two laps depending on distance. It is not suitable for wheelchairs. Walkers may complete one circuit only.
Distances
- 5 kilometres one lap
- 10 kilometres two laps
Facilities at the venue include water stations, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage store. Race headquarters are at STRI, St Ives Estate.
The event is organised by Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice and supported by STRI and Bingley St Ives Golf Club. Sponsorship is provided by Warters and Co. Chartered accountants. A 6 to 17 year old entry rate applies for accompanied 5 km participants. A virtual option allows people to complete a 5 km or 10 km at a location of their choice on the shortest day and receive the event medal by post.
