Event

The Winter Solstice Strider takes place on 21 December 2025 at St Ives Estate, Bingley. It is a night run held in the dark and is organised by Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice. The event is supported by STRI and Bingley St. Ives Golf Club and sponsored by Warters and Co. and the Yorkshire Clinic. Race headquarters are at STRI, St Ives Estate. Every participant is chip timed and receives a bespoke Solstice Strider medal. A virtual option is available to run a 5k or 10k at a location of the entrant’s choice on the shortest day; virtual entries include medal and postage.

Course and facilities

The course is multi terrain with an undulating profile. Runners may complete one lap (5k) or two laps (10k); walkers may complete one lap (5k). The event is not suitable for wheelchairs. Facilities include water stations, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage store.

Entries and fees

Entry is limited to 720 places; 178 places remain. Entry on the day is not available. Fees listed include race fees, card charges and administration: adult 5k £23, 10k £23, virtual 5k or 10k £17 (including medal and postage), 6-17 years 5k (accompanied) £11. Race licence: n/a.
