About the race
The Winter Solstice Strider takes place at St Ives Estate, Bingley on Monday 21 December 2026. It is a night event offering chip timing on a multi‑terrain, undulating course that is not suitable for wheelchairs. Runners may complete one or two circuits of the route.

Walkers are limited to one circuit (5 km). There is a separate entry price for 6 to 17 year olds when accompanied by an adult. The event has an overall entry limit of 720 places.
There is a virtual option allowing participants to complete a 5 km or 10 km at a location of their choice on the shortest day; virtual entrants receive the event medal in advance by post. All in‑person participants receive a bespoke Solstice Strider medal.
Course and race headquarters are supported by STRI and the Bingley St. Ives Golf Club. Available on site are water, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing facilities, no showers and no baggage storage. The race includes chip timing and is organised by Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.
Entry fees vary by category, with options for in‑person 5 km and 10 km entries and a virtual entry that includes medal postage. Entry on the day is not available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
