Virginia's Blue Ridge Triple Crown & Bank of Botetourt Triple Crown Sprint Series is scheduled for November 22, 2025 in Roanoke, VA 24014, US. The series links three local race events across the Blue Ridge, Salem, and Star City races and offers two series options: a Triple Crown for half marathon distances and a Triple Crown Sprint Series for shorter distances.
To earn the Triple Crown medal participants must register for all three qualifying half marathon events: Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Full or Half Marathon (April 12, 2025), Salem Half Marathon (October 11, 2025), and Star City Half Marathon (November 22, 2025). To earn the Bank of Botetourt Triple Crown Sprint Series medal participants must register for three shorter events: Anthem Star 10K or Freedom First Team Relay (April 12, 2025), Salem 8K (October 11, 2025), and Star City 10K (November 22, 2025). A mix of half and shorter distances totaling three races (one at each venue) also qualifies for the Sprint Series medal.
Medals and rules
The Triple Crown medal measures 4 inches and the Sprint Series medal measures 3 inches. Medals feature a square design with a central spinner and race names on the sides; the spinner backside shows the series logo and a relief depicts trails and the Roanoke Star.
Participants must register for each race individually and use the same email address for all three registrations. Medals are limited to 175 participants per category and are awarded on a first-registered, first-awarded basis once all three registrations are complete. For 2025, at least two of the three races must be run in person. Medal pickup is preferred at the Star City Half Marathon or via arranged front porch pickup; mailing is available for a small fee.
