Event overview
The Star City Half Marathon & 10K takes place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at River's Edge Park/Fields - North, off Reserve Avenue in Roanoke, VA. The event program includes these options:
- Half Marathon (in person)
- 10K (in person)
- Kids 1 Mile Fun Run (in person, not timed)
- Half Marathon - Virtual
- 10K - Virtual
Registration uses tiered fees and deadlines. Virtual entrants receive a finisher medal and participant packet by mail but are not eligible for age-group or overall awards. Registrants who sign up by October 30 are guaranteed a shirt; extra shirts and socks are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Logistics and race services
Packet pickup is available early on Friday, November 21 at Fleet Feet Roanoke and on race morning at River's Edge Park/Fields - North. Virtual race packets are mailed and will not be available at packet pickup. Chip timing is provided by Mountain Junkies LLC. Post-race food, billed as "A Taste of Roanoke," and awards will be held in the Roanoke City Parks & Rec parking lot off Reserve Avenue; food is served on a first-come, first-served basis and those lots will not allow public parking. For 2025, participants are asked to use the Carilion Garage for parking. Bag check is at a tent/table only; bags must be labeled with the bib number, the bib and timing chip must not be inside the bag, and bags will be returned only to the person with the matching bib.
