Roanoke 5K | Girls on the Run CVABR
The Greater Roanoke Spring Season Celebratory 5K is a closing event for Girls on the Run Central Virginia and Blue Ridge programs. It is a noncompetitive, celebratory 5K on a 3.1 mile course held at Hollins University on November 14, 2026. Registered participants who finish the course receive a commemorative medal.
The event is open to program participants, coaches, family, friends and community members; program participants and coaches are already registered through the council and do not need to register again. Registration pricing listed for other participants is Early Bird online $25, General online $35, and Race Day at event $45. All registered runners sign a liability waiver.
Accessibility and safety measures are in place. The course accommodates walking, running, pushing or rolling, and designated accessible parking is available on request. For safety, every participant must wear a race bib, the council monitors the course and conducts head counts, and staff and volunteers follow a safety plan. Volunteers appointed through the council undergo a background check.
Parking is not available on the Hollins University campus; participants are asked to use off-campus parking at the Wells Fargo Training Facility where shuttle buses provide transportation to the university. Merchandise will be offered at the event. A running buddy is a background-checked volunteer who accompanies a program participant on the course.
