Virginia Marathon : event details
The Virginia Marathon is organised by Old Dominion Racing and takes place in Middleburg, Virginia on March 22, 2026. All races start and finish at The Hill School (130 Madison St, Middleburg). The event uses paved roads with some gravel across Loudoun and Fauquier counties, passing horse farms, wineries, rolling countryside and shaded sections. Middleburg is about 30 minutes from Dulles International Airport.

- Full Marathon – 26.2 miles (elevation gain 2,087 ft)
- Merikós – 19.65 miles (elevation gain 1,615 ft)
- Half Marathon – 13.1 miles (elevation gain 1,021 ft)
- 10k – 6.2 miles (elevation gain 479 ft)
- 5k – 3.1 miles (elevation gain 184 ft)
The full Marathon and the Merikós routes include an ascent of Bull Run Mountain.
Course, logistics and participant items
Water stands are placed at multiple points on the Marathon route; bottled water, Gatorade and individually packaged snacks will be provided. Bathrooms are available on course and at the start/finish area. Packet pickup is scheduled at PR Run and Walk in Leesburg on the Saturday before the race; race-day packet pickup is also available at The Hill School. Full Marathon finishers receive a VAM hoodie; participants receive a commemorative tech shirt, finisher medal and post-race food. The event offers a hotel partnership with the Dulles Airport Marriott and shuttle service between the hotel and Middleburg for a nominal fee.
