Virginia Marathon : Middleburg, VA
The Virginia Marathon is a multi-distance road running event based in historic Middleburg, Virginia. Routes travel on paved roads with some gravel through Loudoun and Fauquier counties, passing horse farms, rolling countryside, scenic vistas and shaded sections. All races start and finish at The Hill School, which is a short walk from Middleburg’s downtown streets with boutiques and locally owned restaurants. The event organiser lists five distances with measured elevation gain for each.
Packet pickup is available at PR Run and Walk in Leesburg the day before the event and at The Hill School on race day. The race provides water stations with bottled water and Gatorade, individually packaged snacks, and portable restrooms along the routes and at the start and finish areas. Full marathon finishers receive a VAM Hoodie; all participants receive a commemorative tech shirt and finisher’s medal where applicable. Additional race provisions include post-race food, HoneyStinger energy snacks, three food and drink vouchers on each bib, and a coat check style area for personal items. Parking is available on The Hill School property with a nominal fee, and a partnership with the Dulles Airport Marriott offers a group rate and optional shuttle service to Middleburg for a nominal fee. A portion of net proceeds supports the Piedmont Environmental Council and The Hill School. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
