New Day * New Year 5k & HNY Fun Run
This event offers in person and virtual running options around the New Year, with in person activities held at Lost Rhino Brewing Company in Ashburn, Virginia. The in person events take place on January 1, 2027 and use neighborhood streets around the brewery for the course, with both the start and finish at Lost Rhino Brewing Company, 21730 Red Rum Dr #142, Ashburn VA.
Available distances include:
- 5k 3.1 miles
- 10k 6.2 miles
- Out With The Old/In With The New challenge 9.3 miles
In person participants receive a choice of race swag: a 2026 New Day New Year blanket or a long sleeve tech t shirt. An All Inclusive in person option adds a specialty breakfast and a non alcoholic drink available at the finish line. Alcohol is available inside the brewery for those 21 years of age or older with a valid ID. There is an option to add a beer or breakfast during registration.
Virtual entrants can complete their selected distance between December 31, 2026 and January 31, 2027. Virtual entries include a long sleeve tech t shirt and shipping is included; swag shipping begins around December 26 for early registrants and the week of January 3 for later registrants.
If the in person race is canceled for inclement weather, registered runners will be moved to the virtual option and swag will be available for pick up at a specified location in the weeks after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
