New Day * New Year 5k & HNY Fun Run
Run LoCo Races stages in-person and virtual options centered on Lost Rhino Brewing Company in Ashburn, Virginia. The in-person events take participants through the surrounding Ashburn neighborhood and return to Lost Rhino for a finish line celebration and access to the Tap Room.
Available event distances and options:
- 5k (3.1 Miles)
- 10k (6.2 Miles)
- Out With The Old/In With the New challenge 9.3 Miles
- HNY Fun Run in person
In-person registration includes a choice of the 2027 New Day New Year blanket or a long-sleeve technical shirt, a finisher medal new for 2027, and a New Year toast. Participants may add a signature breakfast, Lost Rhino beer, or mimosa as part of registration. Race swag for in-person participants will be available at the finish-line area on race day. Participants who purchase alcohol must be 21 or older and present valid ID.
Virtual participants may complete their selected distance during January 2027. Virtual race swag is a long-sleeve technical shirt; shipping is included. Swag shipping starts December 26 for registrations completed by December 20. Registrations after December 20 will have swag shipped the week of January 3.
If the in-person event is canceled for inclement weather, entries will be moved to the virtual option and swag will be made available for pickup at a specified location in the weeks after the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
