Virgin River Half Marathon
The Virgin River Half Marathon is Southern Utah's longest running event of its distance. The race takes place in St. George, featuring a course on paved city trails that wind along the Virgin River. Participants travel through the local landscape of the region.
The event includes several race distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- 5K
- Fun Run (200 Meter and 1-Mile)
The half marathon distance has a time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes, which is a pace of approximately 16 minutes per mile. While athletes may remain on the course after this time, support services are no longer provided. Aid stations are placed approximately every 2 to 3 miles along the route. These stations provide water and Gatorade, while select stations also offer energy gels.
Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in the Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K categories. Additional awards are provided for the top three male and female finishers within 5-year age groups. All participants who complete their respective events receive a finisher medal. Packet pickup is held on the day prior to the race at the Dixie Convention Center. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
