Baker's Dozen Half Marathon, Relay, & 5K
The Baker's Dozen Half Marathon, Relay, & 5K is a social running event held at Three Falls Park in Hurricane, Utah. The event utilizes a 3.25 mile loop course that participants traverse multiple times depending on their chosen distance. This format allows runners to interact with others throughout the duration of the race.
Participants can choose from several event formats:
- Half Marathon: Individual runners complete the loop four times to reach a total of 13.1 miles.
- Half Marathon Relay: Teams of four members each run a single 3.25 mile loop.
- 5K: Individual runners complete a single loop of the course.
A central feature of the event is the aid station known as the Sugar Shack, located at the end of the loop. To earn a finisher's medal in the half marathon or relay categories, runners must consume a treat each time they pass this station. Half marathon runners are required to eat three treats, while each relay runner must eat one. Volunteers verify consumption at the station and mark the participants' bibs.
The Sugar Station provides various items including donuts, cupcakes, cookies, and Twinkies. Special awards are presented to the three finishers who consume the highest number of treats during the race. All participants receive a finisher's medal and choice of swag items, such as mugs, towels, shirts, or hats.
Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the race at a local sports store or on the morning of the event at the starting line. Parking is located at or around Three Falls Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
