Last One Standing Ultra Marathon
The Last One Standing Ultra is a self-supported loop-format running event held at Crosby Family Confluence Park in St. George, Utah. The course uses asphalt trails of the Mayor's Loop, keeping runners close to the Virgin River and offering city viewpoints.
The adult event uses a 6-mile loop run on a repeating schedule with a 90-minute time limit per loop. Runners must return to the start/finish within 90 minutes to continue; failure to do so results in elimination. The race includes 16 regular loops followed by a 17th final lap to determine overall winners.
A kids division runs a 5.3-mile loop. Children may use any non-motorized means of transport such as bikes, scooters, roller blades, Heelys, or unicycles. The kids loop follows the adult loop except it omits the first 0.7-mile out-and-back.
Race logistics note that packet pickup is at Crosby Family Confluence Park and that the park is available for personal campsites on race day; campsites may not be reserved. An assortment of food and drink will be located under the park pavilion, and participants are recommended to bring their own supplies.
One aid station is located approximately halfway through the loop at St. James Park and will offer water, gatorade, and Gu products; it will be unattended by race staff.
Key rules include no early starts, notifying staff if dropping out, no spectators in the start/finish corral, and courteous sharing of a course that remains open to the public.
Awards include a finisher medal for completing the first loop on time, lap buttons for every completed lap, a belt buckle for completing all 17 loops, and champion awards for overall male and female winners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
