LaVerkin City Winterfest 5K & 10K Race
The event takes place at Wanlass Park, 320 N Main, LaVerkin, UT. Two race distances are offered:
- 10K out and back starting at Wanlass Park.
- 5K loop around the east side of LaVerkin.
The 10K follows Main Street north, turns right onto Highway 9, continues to the LaVerkin Look off road, then turns right onto a dirt road and continues for half a mile to an aid station and turnaround. The outbound portion is mostly uphill; the return follows the same route downhill. All 10K runners must remain within the coned area on the right lane while it is in place. Where the second lane ends, runners will use the road edge or the dirt and gravel shoulder.
The 5K is a loop that passes the east side of LaVerkin and includes views of the Pine Valley Mountains and surrounding areas.
All 5K and 10K runners are required to sign a waiver at packet pick-up. Packet pick-up dates are Friday, December 4th at the LaVerkin City office and Saturday, December 5th at Wanlass Park. The event includes a park treasure hunt and all participants receive a long sleeve tech shirt.
Registration fees: $20 through June 30, $25 July 1 through November 12, and $30 November 13 through December 4. There is no same day registration. Current registrants listed: 37 in the 5K and 14 in the 10K. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
