LaVerkin City Winterfest 5K and 10K
The event is a road race held from Wanlass Park in LaVerkin, Utah. It offers two measured distances and on-course support at an aid station for the 10K route. All participants receive a long-sleeve tech shirt.
Distances
- 5K loop around the east side of LaVerkin with mountain views.
- 10K out-and-back starting at Wanlass Park and returning on the same route.
The 10K route runs north on Main Street, turns right onto Highway 9, continues to the LaVerkin Look off road, then follows a dirt road for about half a mile to the aid station and turnaround. The outbound portion is mostly uphill; the return follows the same route downhill. Runners must remain within the coned areas on the road. The right lane is coned for runners until the second lane ends, after which runners use the road edge or adjacent dirt and gravel.
The 5K follows a loop on the east side of LaVerkin and reports similarly open views toward the Pine Valley Mountains and surrounding areas.
All 5K and 10K runners are required to sign a waiver at packet pick-up. Packet pick-up takes place on December 4 at the LaVerkin City office, 435 N Main, and on December 5 at Wanlass Park, 320 N Main. Registration fees vary by date: $20 through June 30, $25 July 1 through November 12, and $30 for late registration November 13 through December 4. There is no same day registration.
