LaVerkin City Winterfest 5K & 10K Race
The event is held at Wanlass Park, 320 N Main, LaVerkin, UT. It offers two measured road race options and views of the Pine Valley Mountains.
Distances:
- 10K out and back course
- 5K loop course
The 10K starts at Wanlass Park and heads north on Main Street before turning onto Highway 9. Runners follow Highway 9 to the LaVerkin Look off road, then turn onto a dirt road for about a half mile to an aid station and the turnaround. The first half of the 10K is mostly uphill; the return follows the same route downhill. Runners must remain within the coned areas where provided. When the coned lane ends, runners will use the road edge or adjacent dirt and gravel area.
The 5K loops around the east side of LaVerkin and also offers views of the Pine Valley Mountains.
All 5K and 10K participants are required to sign a waiver at packet pick-up. Packet pick-up dates are December 4 at the LaVerkin City office (435 N Main) and December 5 at LaVerkin Wanlass Park (320 N Main). A treasure hunt will take place in the park, and all race participants receive a long sleeve tech shirt.
Registration fees vary by date: $20 through June 30, $25 from July 1 through November 12, and $30 for late registration November 13 through December 4. There is no same day registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
