LaVerkin City Winterfest 5K & 10K
The event is a road race held at Wanlass Park, 320 N Main, LaVerkin, UT. Two distances are offered:
- 10K out and back route from Wanlass Park
- 5K loop around the east side of LaVerkin
The 10K begins at Wanlass Park, proceeds north on Main Street, turns right onto Highway 9, and continues to the LaVerkin Look off road. Runners then turn right onto a dirt road and travel about half a mile to an aid station and the turnaround point. The first half of this route is mostly uphill; the return follows the same road downhill. Runners must stay within the coned areas on the right lane until the second lane ends, then run on the road edge or on the dirt and gravel shoulder.
The 5K follows a loop on the east side of town and also offers views of the Pine Valley Mountains and surrounding areas. All 5K and 10K participants are required to sign a waiver at packet pick-up.
A treasure hunt in the park will be held for participants, with items provided by sponsors. All race participants receive a long-sleeve tech shirt. Packet pick-up is available at the LaVerkin City office, 435 N Main, and at Wanlass Park, 320 N Main. Registration fees vary by date and there will be no same day registration.
