The event is a chip timed 5k run and walk that starts and finishes at Viansa Winery in Sonoma, California. The course includes dirt, sections through the winery, and pavement, and is described as suitable for runners and walkers. The venue address is Viansa Winery, 25200 Arnold Dr, Sonoma, CA US 95476.
Registration includes a super soft ring spun cotton T‑shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal, a race bib with chip timing, results posted online, and a pour of wine for adult participants. Packet pickup is available on race day only and opens one hour before the event.
The local charity partner is the Sonoma Valley Education Foundation, which has worked since 1993 to support public school students. The foundation provides free on campus counseling, free after school programs, and teacher grants. More than 60 percent of children in Sonoma Valley public schools are low income and/or English language learners.
Age group awards are given to the top three finishers in each category. Age groups are 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 and over. Competitive runners must start with the first group or first wave to be eligible for awards. Age group results are posted online and awards must be picked up the day of the event; they are not available for shipment.
Minors may participate with a discounted registration that includes a shirt, medal, and bib but not a wine glass or wine pour. Strollers are allowed but not recommended because of uneven ground. Walking is allowed. Dogs are not permitted on site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
