Event Overview
The Viaduct Run is a community event held in Hafodyrynys, featuring multiple running opportunities to support Sofrydd Primary School. The main event is the Viaduct 5k fun run, which covers a distance of approximately 5 km. All participants in this specific distance must be at least 11 years old on the day of the race.
Distances and Course Information
The event includes the following options:
- 5 km (approximate distance) fun run.
- 5 mile run.
- Kids and disabled race provided free of charge.
The race holds a UKA Race Licence. Registration and Race HQ are located at the Hafodyrynys Rugby Club, situated a one-minute walk from the starting line. Finishers of the event receive a commemorative medal.
Participation and Awards
The event is limited to 200 places. Participants collect their race numbers at the registration desk on the day. Following the conclusion of the races, an awards ceremony takes place at the Swffryd community centre. Prizes are awarded to the first male and female finishers, as well as the first junior boy and junior girl, defined as those aged 16 and under on the day of the race.
Practical Information
The entry fee is subject to a booking charge and entries typically close in late June. While cancellations or deferrals are not permitted once an entry is confirmed, place transfers to other runners can be managed through the registration platform before the closing date.
