Viaduct Run 5 mile : event overview
The Viaduct Run is a community-supported multi-terrain race scheduled for 19 July 2026. The main race is an approximately 5 mile route that uses closed roads, a cycle track and a disused railway line. A separate 5k fun run and free races for children and disabled participants are included on the same day.
Entry is limited to participants who are 15 years old on the day of the event. The event operates under a UKA race licence. All finishers receive a commemorative medal and prizes are awarded in multiple categories, including first male and female, veteran categories and super veteran categories. The awards ceremony will be held at The Swffryd community centre.
Race headquarters are at Hafodyrynys Rugby Club, located a short walk from the start line. Race numbers are collected at the registration desk and race day information is sent to participants by email before the event. Entries close on 18 July 2026 and there are around 200 places available.
Fees are listed as £10 for registered entrants and £12 for unregistered entrants, plus a small booking charge. Discounted rates apply for members of WA WA SA EA. Transfers to another runner are permitted via the Entry Central account before 28 June 2025. No cancellations or deferrals are allowed after entry.
