Port Talbot Harriers & Athletic Club stages the GV 70.tri middle-distance event on 01 Aug 2026 in Port Talbot. The main race comprises a two-lap sea swim, a two-lap bike course and a pancake-flat three-lap run. A relay option is available and the organiser permits partial completion of the course with no official DNFs. Cut-off times are set to protect marshals: swim 1 hr 10 min, swim-and-bike 5 hrs, finish 7 hrs 45 min. All profits will be donated to local charities and good causes in Neath Port Talbot. A British Triathlon Race Pass is required for non-home-nation members; pass costs are listed per age category.
A junior aquathlon run by Aberavon Surf Lifesaving Club takes place alongside the main event. It features a beach start, a sheltered open-water swim with a raised pier for spectators and a flat coastal run. Distances are:
- TriStar 2/3 (ages 11-14): 300m swim then 1200m run
- Youth A/B & Junior (ages 15-19): 600m swim then 2000m run
The Teleri Mia Mini Mile supports families affected by the loss of a child; all proceeds go to the Teleri Mia Foundation. Entry for children is £10 plus booking fee. Distances for the Mini Mile are:
- Dinas: 200m for children up to 7 years, adult accompaniment required
- Foel: 800m for children 7–9 years, one lap of Little Warren playing fields
- Afan: two laps of Little Warren playing fields for children 10–11 years
