Veterans Salute 5K and 10K : Concord, NC
The event is held on November 7, 2026, in downtown Concord at Fifth Third Bank - Downtown Concord, 40 Cabarrus Ave E. Start and finish are located on McCachern Blvd and follow the Downtown Connector Greenway with a half-mile turnaround.

The 5K course begins on McCachern Blvd beside the Cabarrus County Parking Lot, proceeds toward Corban Ave, follows Corban and Union, turns around near Tribune, returns to the greenway and finishes via the Downtown Connector. The 10K also begins on McCachern Blvd, continues into the greenway and through Lawndale, Patton Ave, McAllister Ave, SunnySide, Winfield, Ingleside, Caldwell, Hillcrest and downtown Concord before returning down Corban Ave and using the Downtown Connector for the finish.
Awards are given to the overall top three male and female finishers, the top veteran male and female, and the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 10 & under; 11-14; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75 and over. Courses are USATF certificated: 5K NC24004DF and 10K NC21008DF.
Standard registration fees listed by the organizer are $20 for the 5K, $30 for the 10K, and free for the fun run. Veterans rates are listed as $15 for the 5K and $25 for the 10K. Packet pickup is scheduled Thursday, November 5 at the David Phillips Activity Center and on race day; race day registration is available with an increased fee while supplies last. Course maps are provided and an overall event map is to be announced. Speed for Need provides customized racing wheelchairs to assist riders with special needs.
