Veterans Salute 5K and 10K, Concord NC
The Veterans Salute events in Concord, North Carolina take place on November 7, 2026 and include road races and a family fun run presented by American Legion Post 51. The event area centers on McCachern Blvd beside the Cabarrus County Parking Lot and uses the Downtown Connector and nearby greenway corridors.

The 5k and 10k are USATF-certificated courses (5k: NC24004DF; 10k: NC21008DF). Course descriptions show routes that use Corban Ave, Union, the greenway, and multiple downtown streets before returning to the finish via the downtown connector.
Awards are given to the overall top three male and female finishers, the top male and female veteran, and the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over.
Registration opens July 9 and closes November 6. Standard fees listed are $20 for the 5k, $30 for the 10k, and free for the fun run; race day registration increases the 5k and 10k fee by $10 and is card only while supplies last. Veterans registration fees are reduced ($15 for the 5k; $25 for the 10k). Packet pick up is scheduled at Academy Recreation Center on Thursday, November 5 (5:30 pm to 8:00 pm) and additional race day packet pick up is available. Registrations by October 16 are guaranteed a T-shirt; sweatshirt availability for 10k participants is limited. Speed for Need will provide customized racing wheelchairs for participants with special needs; reservations are arranged through event organizers.
