NODA Halloween Freaky 5k
The NODA Halloween Freaky 5k is a community run through the historic NoDa neighborhood in Charlotte. Hosted by the NoDa Neighborhood and Business Association, this event takes place on city roads and features a relatively flat course with some small hills. The route is situated to provide viewing opportunities for spectators.
The event offers several categories based on age:
- Freaky 5k (General entry)
- Freaky 5k (Kids ages 5-12)
- Freaky 5k (Kids ages 0-4)
Participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes during the run. Prizes are awarded for both the fastest runners and for the best costumes. Following the race, a party is held at the NoDa Company Store on Yadkin Ave. This gathering includes the costume contest and award ceremony.
The event is open to participants using strollers, and leashed dogs are permitted. Net proceeds from the race support local community projects through the NoDa NBA, a 501C3 non-profit organization.
