The race route allows wheelchairs, strollers, and dogs. All proceeds support St. Patrick Center, a ministry of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, which focuses on sustainable housing, employment, and healthcare.
Recent agency figures show assistance for 4,223 clients, including 813 veterans. St. Patrick Center connected 89 veterans with jobs and placed 743 veterans and their families in permanent housing.
Project HERO, in partnership with the Missouri Department of Mental Health and the U.S. Veterans Administration, provides mental health counseling, transportation access, and employment services. Project HERO is housed at Freedom Place, a 50-unit apartment complex reserved for male veterans experiencing homelessness along with substance abuse disorders and/or mental health issues.
For the virtual 5K, registrants who sign up by October 18 receive race packets before race day; registrations after October 18 may not have shirts available by November 7. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
