Howling Habitat 5K/Fun Run
The Howling Habitat 5K/Fun Run is a community athletic event held in O'Fallon, Illinois. Organized by O'Fallon's Habitat for Humanity, the event takes place on Halloween and features a route that passes by five Habitat for Humanity homes. The event is hosted at O'Fallon's Public Safety Police Department.
Participants have several registration options available:
- 5K Run/Walk
- Kids' Fun Run
The 5K Run/Walk is open to all ages, with specific categories for participants aged 12 and under. The Kids' Fun Run is designed for children aged 8 and under and features a course that goes around the Public Safety Building. A family registration option is also available, covering two adults and two children.
The event includes a costume contest, and participants are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes. Following the completion of the courses, pancakes are provided at the finish line by the Jennifer Mueller Foundation. Registered participants who sign up by the mid-October deadline are guaranteed an event t-shirt.
The race takes place rain or shine. Packet pickup is held the day before the event at Toolen's Running Start or on the morning of the race at the event site. A virtual running option is also available, though virtual participants must pick up their own shirts and are not eligible for race prizes.
