Veterans Day Catalina State Park Trail Races
The event takes place Sunday, November 8, 2026 at Catalina State Park in Tucson, Arizona. It offers multiple distances for runners and walkers:
- 10.6 Mile trail race
- 5.3 Mile trail race
- 5K road run and walk
All courses start and finish in front of the main parking lot at the end of the park road. Runners begin on a short section of the park road and enter the Nature Trail to run counterclockwise, then continue to the Bridal Trail. The longer course includes an out-and-back on the 50-Year Trail of about 2.75 miles with a monitor and medic at the turnaround. The 5K uses the Nature Trail and an out-and-back on the Bridal Trail.
Participants should carry their own water. Event water is available before the Nature Trail and bottled water before the Birding Trail. Rocks are placed on course to keep runners on the 50-Year Trail; crossing them will put a runner off course. Some sections, especially on the 50-Year Trail, are narrow and may have two-way traffic, so runners must follow course monitor instructions.
Packet pickup occurs at Fleet Feet on Tanque Verde and at Fleet Feet on Oracle Road. A one-day park entry pass is required; different prices apply depending on purchase timing and number of people per car. Awards include overall and five-year age group medals for top finishers, and post-race food and finisher shirts are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
