Veterans Day Catalina State Park Trail Races
This event is a set of trail races and a 5K held at Catalina State Park in Tucson, Arizona on Sunday November 8, 2026. Distances run on park trails include the Nature Trail, Bridal Trail and the 50-Year Trail, with the start and finish located at the main parking lot at the end of the park road.
- 10.6 Mile trail race
- 5.3 Mile trail race
- 5K road run and walk
The longer courses include an out-and-back section of roughly 2.75 miles on the 50-Year Trail with a monitor and medical presence at the turnaround. Runners are directed to follow marked routes and not to cross rocks placed to keep participants on course; parts of the 50-Year Trail are narrow and may have two-way traffic. All participants are asked to carry their own water. Organizers will provide water before the Nature Trail and bottled water prior to the Birding Trail. If participants take a bottle it is their responsibility to carry it for the remainder of the race and to avoid littering.
Packet pickup is available at local Fleet Feet locations. A one-day park entry pass is required and may be purchased with registration or at packet pickup; park purchase fees are higher on site. Spectators and crew are allowed at the start and finish only.
Awards are given overall and in five-year age groups for male and female 1st through 3rd place. Volunteer positions offer race credits and event swag. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
