Veterans Day Catalina State Park Trail Races and TMC 5K Road Run & Walk
The event takes place at Catalina State Park in Tucson, AZ, with the start and finish located in front of the main parking lot at the end of the park’s main road. Distances offered are:
- 10.6 Mile : Nature, Bridal, 50-Year Trail; includes a 2.75-mile out-and-back.
- 5.3 Mile : Nature and Bridal Trails with shared sections of the longer course.
- 5K : Nature Trail out to Bridal Trail and back to the park road.
The 50-Year Trail segment is a narrow section with some course traffic and a monitored turnaround. Rocks mark route boundaries to prevent running off course onto the utility pole road. A monitor/medic is present at the turnaround on the out-and-back section.
All participants are asked to carry their own water. Event water is available before the Nature Trail and as bottled water prior to the Birding Trail. A water stop on the Bridal Trail is listed for half marathoners.
Parking requires a state park entry pass; purchases are offered at packet pick-up or at the park with different rates for single and multiple occupants. Spectators and crew are allowed at the start and finish area only. Awards include overall and five-year age group 1st–3rd for men and women. Post-race provisions list a homemade Mexican breakfast, doughnuts, fruit and nuts, finisher shirts, medals, and downloadable race photos.
