Big Gay 5K
The Big Gay 5K is part of Big Gay Weekend in Tucson and takes place on October 24, 2026. The event centers on a 3.1 mile course through the historic Barrio Viejo and includes additional programming back at Armory Park and other independently produced events across the city.

The 5K course winds through Barrio Viejo with on-course entertainment, course support, and a generous time limit. Participants may run, walk, or move through the course at their own pace. The finish area includes a celebration element that may feature a judged costume presentation by a drag queen and on-site refreshments in Armory Park.
High Heel Havoc is a short dash held on the same day. The event welcomes all genders, requires participants to be 18 or older, and specifies minimum heel height of 2 inches with a maximum heel base width of 1/2 inch. Prize packages are planned both for the fastest finishers and for participants who best embrace the event spirit.
