Vancouver Island Trail Running Series - Cobble Hill
The event takes place at Nature Quarry Park, Cobble Hill, BC, at 3606 Empress Road. It uses trails in the Cobble Hill Mountain Recreation area and is held on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Cowichan Tribes First Nation. This is the ninth edition of the single-track focused event.
Distances offered:
- Long course: ~27 km, 1188 m vertical gain.
- Short course: ~12 km, 640 m vertical gain.
- Kids race: ~1 km.
The long course includes at least three aid stations with locations listed at 7 km and 21 km; the short course has an aid station at 7 km. Aid stations supply water, Gatorade, fruit, chips, pickles, and other snacks. The event is cupless, so participants must bring a personal drinking container or purchase a cup on site.
Bib pickup is at the registration tent and requires a government issued photo ID. There is no parking at Nature Quarry Park; parking is available only in designated areas along Hutchinson Road, Watson Ave and Fisher Ave. Parking is prohibited on Empress Road, Cobble Hill Road, Shawnigan Lake Road and in business parking lots.
