About the race
The Vancouver Island Trail Running Series event at Cobble Hill takes place on August 14, 2027, at Nature Quarry Park in Cobble Hill, BC (3606 Empress Road). The event uses single-track trails in the Cobble Hill Mountain Recreation area and is presented in its tenth year. The race has sold out in recent years. Registration opens December 4, 2026.

The long course lists 1188 m of vertical gain and the short course lists 640 m of vertical gain. The long course includes aid stations at about 7 km, 15 km and 21 km; the short course includes an aid station at about 7 km. Aid station supplies include water, Gatorade, fruit, chips, pickles and other snacks. The event operates cupless; participants are expected to bring a drink container or may purchase a cup at the event merch tent.
Bib pick up requires government-issued photo identification and is staggered by course category. There is no race parking at Nature Quarry Park. Designated parking is available along Hutchinson Road, Watson Ave and Fisher Ave. Parking is not permitted on Empress Road, Cobble Hill Road, Shawnigan Lake Road or in business parking lots.
The kids race registration fees support the Cowichan Valley Trailblazers Society. The finish area offers post-race nutrition and a draw prize opportunity.
