Harriers Gunner Shaw Classic
The Harriers Gunner Shaw Cross Country Classic is an annual 10-kilometre cross country race held at Thetis Lake Park in Victoria, British Columbia. Known for its challenging course, the race features rugged trails with roots, rocks, stumps, puddles, and six significant hills, including famously named obstacles like "The McKenzie Monster" and "The Shoe Wash." This autumn event offers a tough, wet terrain that demands resilience and trail running skill. Limited to 600 participants, it is sanctioned by BC Athletics and supports local community projects through the Harriers Foundation.
Post-race refreshments and a social gathering at a nearby inn add to the friendly, spirited atmosphere. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
