Harriers Pioneer 8K is an 8-kilometre road race held on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Saanich Fairgrounds, Stellys Cross Road, Saanichton, British Columbia. The race will start and finish at the Saanich Fairgrounds. This is the 46th running of the Harriers Pioneer 8K; the course is not the original route but has a similar elevation profile and overall difficulty. The event is part of the Vancouver Island Race Series and uses measured courses in the series.
Registration and rules
Online registration is available and closes on January 9. Fees are listed as $40 for early and regular entry (plus online processing fees) and $50 for late entry (plus fees); prices shown include mandatory charges but not 5% GST. Payment is in Canadian funds; major credit cards are accepted. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Current club members are eligible for a $10 discount. The race is open to runners, racewalkers, walkers, and wheelchair athletes only. The use of headphones is not permitted and may lead to disqualification. No roller blades, strollers, or cycling are allowed except for designated official cyclists. Pets are not permitted except registered guide dogs; visually impaired participants accompanied by a guide or guide dog must start at the back of the field.
Fundraising and performance incentives
The event supports KidSport BC; the fundraiser shows $162.92 raised toward a $3,000 goal.
