Portage Plod 5K
The Portage Plod 5K is a timed 5K run/walk. It is the fifth event in the Race the Region racing series for Northwest Indiana. The race starts and finishes at Founder's Square at 6300 Central Ave in Portage, Indiana.
Online registration is required. Fees change over time.
- Early registration (until May 8, 2026) is $30 with a shirt or $25 without. A shirt and size are guaranteed.
- Registration from May 9 until May 16, 2026 is $35 with a shirt or $30 without. Size is not guaranteed.
- Race day registration is $40 with a shirt or $35 without. Shirt and size are not guaranteed.
Packet pickup is available on two days before the race at the Extra Mile Fitness Company in Valparaiso. On race day, packet pickup is available at Founder's Square starting at 6:30 AM.
All 5K participants receive a finisher's medal. The event uses chip timing and timing mats at the start line. Results are provided live via text and email. The course will be open for competition for 1 hour and 20 minutes from the race start, after which all course support will end.
Awards will be given to the top overall male and female finishers, top masters male and female, and the top three in each listed age group. Awards can be claimed within 14 days after the event at the Extra Mile Fitness Company.
